Job Description



We are looking for an experienced Chief Operating Officer to run our medical facility.


The Chief Operating Officer (COO) exercises supreme responsibility for ensuring that our medical facility is delivering efficient services that satisfy patient needs. The COO will drive the organization's mission; evaluate whether clinical operations are safe, produce good financial results, and build the facility's excellent service culture. The COO creates standardized protocols to prioritize accountability and performance management while setting the right financial parameters to maximize budget resources. The COO will also maintain regular contact with physicians and monitor their performance for safety.


 Requirements:



  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to supervise and train team members.

  • Must have good problem-solving skills and quick critical thinking abilities to find effective solutions to administrative challenges in a timely fashion.

  • Minimum of 10 years of proven work experience as a manager or administrator.

  • Work experience as a Hospital Administrator, Medical Office Manager or similar role will be a definite plus.

  • Knowledge of systems, program development, quality, fiscal management, compliance and clinical management measures, physician relationships, outreach strategies, work culture enhancement and internal communication and consensus-building.

  • Have an understanding of technical issues such as information management or clinical care to make effective decisions.

  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities to speak with everyone from clinicians to board chairmen are essential.



  • Knowledge of medical terminology and understanding of healthcare procedures and regulations will be an advantage.

  • Basic accounting skills.

  • Hands-on experience with database systems and MS Excel & Word.

  • Significant leadership skills and ability required. The COO will be accountable for the overall success of operations of the hospital. 


Educational Requirements:



  • BS degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or relevant field.

  • A Master's degree in Health Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), Public Administration (MPA), or Public Health (MPH) will be a definite plus.


Responsibilities:



  • Act as the liaison between the hospital governing board of trustees, medical staff, and departments heads

  • Organize, direct, control, and coordinate medical and health services about policies set by a governing board of trustees

  • Work through the management team and medical leadership of the hospital, serving as a resource to help reduce costs, enhance revenues, achieve effective utilization and quality goals and objectives, analyze and utilize information to develop and support management decisions.

  • Where appropriate, represent the hospital to the external market, as well as internally through the application of community relations, developing strategic partnerships and marketing activities.



  • Monitor expenses and suggest cost-effective alternatives.

  • Create quarterly and annual budgets.

  • Develop and implement effective policies for all operational procedures.

  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein as may be assigned or delegated.
