Job Description



Your Job Role


You will be responsible for cash deposits, withdrawal and payments, petty cash administration and monitoring the organization's cash position.


Your Key Responsibilities



  • Facilitate the availability of funds to meet day-to-day operational petty cash expenses and emergencies.

  • Maintain records to allow easy disbursement, reconciliation and replenishment

  • Make prompt payment to Prudent Energy’s suppliers, vendors and other creditors when due

  • Manage the petty cash register as well as spread sheets to allow for reconciliation of accounts.

  • Raise cheques and prepare confirmation and transfer letters for approved payments over petty cash limit

  • Process cash book transactions and preparation of bank reconciliations

  • Conduct timely bank reconciliation, filing and records keeping of transactions with different banks

  • Create and maintain records of cash requests and disbursements for each department

  • Process expense retirement ledgers to ensure proper accountability of all cash advances

  • Process updates to bank mandates and processes new account opening forms.

  • Review bank statements daily to ascertain correctness of charges, commissions and posted transactions.

  • Prepare monthly reports for submission to the Treasury & Investment Lead

  • Facilitates prompt cash, cheques or direct debit payments to Prudent Energy’s suppliers, vendors and other creditors.


Job Requirements



  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree / HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics or any related discipline

  • Must have 3-5 years experience in the Finance / Treasury / Accounts function in a similar organization

  • Relevant professional certifications from ICAN, ACCA or its equivalent


Skills & Competencies:



  • Financial management, accounting, analysis

  • Financial Reporting

  • Knowledge of ERP Accounting application

  • Financial audit, risk management control

  • Knowledge of accounting policies and processes
