Key Functions 

• Inspect, prepare and sling cargo to be transferred


• Select, inspect, prepare and set-up appropriate rigging equipment for safe transfer of cargo


• Relay instructions to the crane operator during lifting activities


• Monitor & maintain rigging equipment


• Manoeuvre cargo using heavy equipment


• Disassemble rigging equipment and conduct post-rigging inspection

Job Requirements

Training & Certification:

• OPITO Stage 3 or Equivalent Rigger/Slinger/Banksman certificate


• In-depth knowledge of rigging equipment and heavy machinery

Experience:

• 5 years’ experience as a Rigger / Banksman / Slinger
