Job Desccription:

We are looking for a Loan Officer to evaluate, authorize approval or deny loan applications for people or for business. You will bring in new customers and will act as liaison between the customers and our financial institution. You will help qualified applicants acquire loans in a timely manner. In a nutshell, you are an account officer for customers you bring and are involved in every aspect of the customer from loan application to loan recovery, if need be.

Job responsibilities:

• Review loan requests


• Assess clients’ financial status


• Evaluate creditworthiness and risks


• Contact clients to gather documentation and financial data


• Analyze risks involved and approve or deny loan requests


• Calculate financial ratios (e.g. credit scores and interest rates)


• Set up payment plans


• Maintain updated records of loan applications


• Follow up with clients about loan renewals


• Monitor progress of existing loans


• Recovery of loans where necessary

Requirements and skills:

• Proven work experience as a Credit Officer, Loan Officer or similar role


• Hands-on experience with onboarding new loan clients


• Hands on experience with lending procedures and products


• Ability to create and process financial spreadsheets


• Strong analytical skills


• Customer service experience


• Strong sales competencies


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


• BSC/HND/OND in relevant fields
