Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Meeting monthly sales targets and growing existing businesses
- Build and manage vendors relationships, and interact with relevant government agencies
- Train, develop and mentor subordinates as well as promote team building
- Develop and implement world-class supply chain management processes, procedures, techniques, and negotiation tactics and strategies.
- Build and maintain relationships will all third-party logistics providers, distributors, and manufacturers.
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities in line with agreed budgets
- Oversee the development and delivery of sales proposals and presentations
- Identify and develop relationships with international networks and manage overseas network partners' relationships
- Provide clients with accurate and cost-effective quotations
- Gather market information and provide relevant feedback on competitor’s rates
- Ensure conversion of prospective customers into new businesses
- Efficiently manage existing clients and maintain the business relationships for new business opportunities.
- Follow up and update clients on the progress of all ongoing jobs with the company.
- Screen potential business opportunities by analyzing market strategies and financials, evaluating options, and resolving internal priorities
- Identify new opportunities and close business deals by providing profitable solutions to clients
- Coordinating contract review and negotiating with stakeholders.
- Increase overall sales efficiency and profitability through excellent salesmanship
- Developing new markets, new clients and expanding the company’s client base
- Negotiating sales contracts, working with key decision-makers, and ensuring adherence to established rules and guidelines to facilitate the agreement process.
- Conducting marketing research to identify new businesses and/or opportunities
- Identifying key market segments and developing marketing plans
- Effective prospecting and market intelligence gathering to aid successful sales presentations and closing
- Conducting follow-up activities with the aim of achieving and exceeding customer expectation
- Build strong relationships with clients, business partners among others
Requirements:
- Applicants should possess a First Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or any other relevant field
- MBA or master’s degree is an added advantage
- Membership in relevant professional associations
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience
- Experience in at least three of these areas of activity (air freight, sea freight, transportation, agro-commodity export, and shipping).
- Excellent interpersonal & organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to manage people and drive sales solution
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good network/contacts
