Job Description



The Account Manager is responsible for protecting revenue, securing new revenue within the organization’s existing clients’ portfolio.


Will oversee, supervise, and evaluate the operations of the Accounting Department. This involves direct oversight and management of the company's accountants as well as accounting support staff. Will also be responsible for planning, organizing and managing the daily operation of the Accounting functions, tasks and projects, while ensuring that department responsibilities are performed and completed in a timely and accurate manner.


The role ensures an excellent client experience/service delivery satisfaction at all times and works in collaboration with the operation teams to ensure a smooth transition of accounts into the business.


Required Skills:



  • Proficiency in account management ERP (Sage, QuickBooks,)

  • Working knowledge of Nigerian tax laws

  • Experience working with and producing management and statutory accounts

  • Excellent computer skills in the Microsoft Office environment with advanced Excel skills

  • Experience in supervising, evaluating, training and motivating employees

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Experience working at multinational organizations will be advantageous

  • Awareness and ability to demonstrate the importance of ethics & appropriate codes of conduct in the workplace

  • Ability to achieve daily targets while attending to impromptu activities that may occur

Job Roles / Responsibilities:



  • Overseeing: Compliance & Taxes, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, financial statements and cost reports, and analysis receipts and disbursements, general journals, fixed assets and month end processes

  • Forecast and track key account metrics (e.g. monthly/quarterly reports and annual forecasts)

  • Developing, implementing and assessing short and long-term programs, goals and objectives for accounting department

  • Ensuring that accounting practices, records, controls and decisions are made according to accounting standards and Company policy

  • Organizing and manage periodic stock takes and perform inventory reconciliations


Preparation of statutory accounts



  • Overseeing preparation and completion of the annual tax returns

  • Participate in Annual audit- preparation of schedules for external auditors.

  • Prepares annual budgets and ensures optimal utilization of the budget.

  • Ensure all jobs / projects are invoiced upon completion

  • Perform bank reconciliations

  • Manages petty cash / imprest system

  • Make and acknowledge receipts of bank inflows and outflows.


Payroll Management



  • Make regulatory payments of staff payroll related items- PAYE, Pension, NSITF as may be applicable

  • Record and follow up with Accounts Receivables and Payables.

  • Assist with challenging client requests or issue escalations as needed

  • Performing other duties as required
