Description



  • 54gene is continually evaluating new opportunities and regions where we can host our business to serve current and future markets.

  • The Process Design & Optimization Analyst is responsible for driving the monitoring and evaluation  of critical growth activities, supporting senior executive decision-making.

  • The ideal candidate is  expected to support many different aspects of the 54gene’s business in their assigned geographies and serve as the central analyst of all expansion activities.


Duties and Responsibilities

Data analysis, Process design & monitoring:



  • Carry out Analysis of present processes and identify opportunities to enhance efficiency in operations, commercial and laboratory workflows 

  • Work with the SVP Growth and project sponsors to design critical business processes and  workflows that deliver increased revenue, reduce cost, or qualitative improvements like customer satisfaction.  

  • Inspect the effectiveness of active process improvement initiatives and make recommendations to the SVP of growth and senior leadership of 54gene 

  • Support operations and commercial leaders in the design of efficient processes including strong controls and KPI measurement.  

  • Pilot and/or lead scale implementation of new processes & systems across all 54gene lines of activities  

  • On an ongoing basis, work with project managers to prototype new processes or business improvements strategies 

  • Collect data & feedback on process performance while rolling-out changes to all country operations.  

  • Prepare crisp and polished documentation of new systems including process documents,  reporting dashboards [excel, looker, BI, etc.] training materials, presentations, etc. 

  • Conduct training with junior, and senior field and office-based staff members  transferring knowledge and excellent implementation of new processes.  

  • On a quarterly basis, conduct field visits with operations teams and drive internal assessment of current processes


Stakeholder Management:



  • Coordinate internal stakeholders using RACI methodology or any other appropriate  stakeholder management strategy 

  • Develop stakeholder management plan 

  • Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders  

  • Keep stakeholders informed on all crucial changes that occur during the project 

  • Hold stakeholders accountable in an emotionally intelligent manner 

  • Identify stakeholders’ preferred means of communication and use this channel always


Desk Research:



  • Conduct secondary research and literature reviews to support internal reports 

  • Perform valid and reliable market research relating to internal initiatives, as required. This includes but is not limited to: benchmark analysis, competitive analysis, industry analysis, gap analysis, and SWOT analysis 

  • Remain fully informed on industry trends and implement best practices identify stakeholders’ preferred means of communication, and use this channel always


Qualifications



  • Master's Degree in Life Sciences, Business Administration, or a Business-related field would be a plus

  • 3-years of experience working in the healthcare or service industry would be appreciated

  • Business and technical background that enables the ability to drive strategy


Requirements

Knowledge, Experience and Skills:



  • Top marks at a top 5 Regional or Globally recognized University with a degree in commerce,  engineering, sciences, education or other relevant disciplines. 

  • Previous experience as a laboratory scientist and an advanced degree in research in the field of healthcare would be an added advantage 

  • Highly analytical with a high degree of competency in Excel/Google Sheets, BI software (Looker, Microsoft BI, Tableau), and other analytical tools [this will be tested, do not apply if you do not have these skills]  

  • Very strong ability to structure problems and drive towards solutions even in ambiguous situations  

  • Entrepreneurial Spirit with qualities of being able to work independently and figure things out with innovative thinking, problem-solving skills, and presence of mind. 

  • Track record of success in their role e.g. fast promotion, demonstrable experience in  exceeding results in their role 

  • Ambitious, works hard and works smart (efficiently) wants to supercharge their professional development  

  • Excellent communication skills able to distill information and understand the way to  communicate to different audiences to get results  

  • Demonstrates humility  

  • Passionate about working with rural, off-grid consumers and resolving their issues.
