Job Description

• A database manager isresponsible for developing and maintaining an organizations' systems that store and organize data for companies.


• By implementing several security programs, they ensure the safety of stored data. They create data storage and retrieval systems, troubleshoot database issues, and implement database recovery procedures and safety protocols. They also supervise the daily activities of database teams.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for providing support of SQL Infrastructure.


• Installation and configuration of SQL Server in single and cluster mode.


• Primarily role is supporting the production and development SQL 2008/2012 databases.


• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot SQL on Windows Servers.


• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Oracle 10g/11g/12c in single and cluster mode.


• Good experience in Replication, Log shipping, Clustering & RAC.


• Experience in Database patch Installation, clean up, cloning, DB Job scheduling.


• Configuring and maintaining Database replication / standby / clusters.


• Creation of maintenance plans and jobs for update stats , defragmentation


• Verify that Server has enough resources for acceptable performance.


• Review contention for CPU, memory, network, and disk resources.


• Review fragmentation by investigating row chaining and other areas of fragmentation.


• Capture Performance Statistics using performance monitors.


• Define Backup policy and retention policy for complete/differential/transaction backup.


• Conduct backup, restoration drills for backup verification in different scenarios.


• Execution of backup/recovery procedures.


• Creation and Maintenance of Database Instances & Performance fine tuning.


• Good experience in Replication, Log shipping, Clustering.


• Responsible for driving all P1, P2, incidents, change requests and OEM/ vendor management for the tower.


• Responsible for Technology refresh in respective domain.


• Execution of backup/recovery procedures & RMAN.


• Creation and Maintenance of Database Instances & Performance fine tuning.


• Driving initiatives to improve SLAs by analysis and Responses

Qualifications

• Academic Qualification: B.Sc / HND in Computer Science, Information Technology or other related course.


• Experience: 8 years hands on experience and excellent knowledge of DB administration, License Management, Version upgrades and migrations
