In this position, you will be responsible for managing all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets.
The accountant will provide accurate quantitative information on the financial position, liquidity and cash flows of the business, while ensuring compliance with all tax regulations.
Responsibilities
Reconcile account balances and bank statements, maintain the general ledger and prepare month-end close procedures.
Verify, allocate post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results.
Analyse financial information and summarize financial status.
Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending.
Preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annual financial and management reports.
Ensure monthly close including delivery of management accounts and board package.
Provide technical support and advice on the Management accounts.
Prepare profitability reports and provide analytical support to key functions including the Sales team, Marketing team, and Service Centre.

Prepare a monthly payroll schedule with journals for postings and payment.
Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
Manage and supervise account assistants and bookkeepers.
Participate in financial standards setting and forecast process.
Provide input into the department’s goal-setting process.
Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule
Management of corporate tax responsibilities and assist with tax audits and tax returns and other regulatory returns.
Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.
Liaise with the Financial Controller to improve financial reporting procedures.
Liaise with the Financial Controller to prepare company budget and ensure budgets are strictly complied with.
Liaise with the Financial Controller to develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Qualifications
Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field. Professional Qualifications such as ICAN, and ACCA is an added advantage.
Core Competencies:
Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Hands-on experience with accounting software
Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookup and pivot tables
Experience with general ledger functions
Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
