Our client a reputable construction company is looking to fill the role of Equipment Maintenance Supervisor


Location:         Project sites


 Department:  Equipment Maintenance


Summary

Responsible for overseeing all installation, repair, and upkeep operations of the company’s equipment and facilities.

 

Duties and Responsibilities



  • Oversee and evaluate regular and routine maintenance activities, including assigning work schedules; maintenance time and attendance records; monitoring, addressing and documenting performance issues; and ensuring adequate staffing and coverage to meet desired goal.

  • Schedule routine maintenance for vehicle and equipment;  

  • Supervise and oversee the activities of Operator personnel, mechanic and other trade  Maintain detailed computerized fleet records including maintenance and repair schedules.

  • Assess problem equipment in emergency situations to determine if serviceable; dispatch staff to complete repairs; operate a variety of motor vehicles to determine serviceability and to provide emergency assistance.

  • Send daily work force report to your line manager.

  • Arrange and selecting in advance tools, materials and spares necessary for work execution and keep effective work order system and report.

  • Pre-planned Predictive and Preventive Maintenance Procedures and Technical regulation.

  • Troubleshoot, Repairs, Maintenance and Servicing of faulty and brake down equipment’s, hydraulic systems etc.

  • Maintained discipline and adherence of workshop personnel to company's regulations at all times

  • keep up to date inventory records, how and when there were used and need for replacement.

  • Organize maintenance work in such a way that it will won’t cause brake down or closing of any site activities.

  • Set up different teams to manage the task at hand and ensure they report back to you either verbal or email to use as part of your report to your line manager.

  • Ensure the safety of workers and equipment in plant department or any site.

  • Update service report and summit to line manager.

  • Coordinate, monitor and track equipment on a daily basis by job site, and Provides Line manager with a weekly budget analysis of rentals and repairs.

  • Join mechanic in repairs, maintenance and overhauling of the company equipment

  • Inspect repair quality to ensure equipment is properly repaired and meets safety and operating regulations and standards.

  • Support safety mitigation programs and leads investigations that support root cause analysis of accidents, injuries and incidents involving heavy service equipment or team personnel.

  • Maintain equipment/tools inventory records on a monthly basis. This includes status, location, expenditures, maintenance/repair, parts, supplies and other related issues.

  • Prepare weekly inspection plan, determine problems and allocate necessary maintenance schedules

  • Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal codes and regulations.

  • Thorough understanding of mechanical engineering.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite


Educational Qualifications and Requirements



  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree/HND in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline  

  • Minimum of 5 years' work experience with at least 3 years in the construction industry

  • Strong knowledge of building trades, cleaning procedures and maintenance.

  • Solid understanding of health and safety regulations and practices.

  • Effective budgeting and performance management.

  • Fantastic organizational and leadership skills.

  • Great eye for detail.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.

  • Computer literate with capability in email, MS Office and related communication tools.

  • Great time management skills.

  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
