Job Description
Job Objective
- Oversee the company’s lending process, creating credit scoring models, setting loan terms and determining interest rates; minimize bad debts and increase revenues from loans.
Key Responsibilities
The Job responsibilities include without limitation, the following:
Debt Recovery:
- Recover bad debts from delinquent debtors.
- Obtain delinquent reports for all assigned defaulting portfolios and manage the recovery process.
- Reduce the non-performing loans
- Design work-out payment plans for debtors
- Develop options and alternatives that guarantee an effective recovery process, by devising customized recovery strategies on a case by case basis.
- Respond and enforce the firm's policy issues to clients, such as fraud, breach of contract etc.
- Maintain appropriate and comprehensive records of customer discussions.
- Manage all assets (vehicles, income-generating assets, personal assets and inventories) presented for repossession in line with the firm's processes and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality while handling customer enquiries and information.
- Deliver high quality, efficient, responsive and professional service during the recovery process that portraits the firm's ethical conduct.
Credit Manager Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough analysis of financial statements and assessment of credit requests, including new requests, changed requests, refinancing and annual due diligence.
- Acts as a liaison between financial institutions, individuals and businesses applying for loans , as well as process loan application
- Research and evaluate clients’ creditworthiness
- Present analysis, findings, and recommendations to managers, especially findings that involve a borrower’s ability to repay
- Create credit scoring models, both mathematical and statistical ones that directly relate to the risk being measured or predicted risk.
- Approve or reject loan requests, based on credibility and potential revenues and losses
- Calculate and set interest rates
- Monitor payments
Qualifications and Experience
- Graduate (BSc) degree or HND in any field.
- Having field work experience with minimum 5 years experience
- Having relevant experience is an added advantage.
Functional Competencies and Skills:
- Effective communication / interpersonal skills with people at all levels, including ability to use tact, diplomacy and persuasiveness
- Strong leadership negotiation and problem solving skills
- Detailed knowledge of required documentation and a thorough knowledge of Lien Laws that govern the transactional relationship between the Customer and the Company
- Knowledge of contract payments
- Understanding of financial and debt analysis
- Knowledge of micro, small and medium enterprise market.

- Working knowledge of Microsoft office suite
- Customer relationship management skills
- Working knowledge of Business and CRM softwares specifically SugarCRM, Quickbooks.
