Location: Lekki, Lagos
Job Summary
- The Account Associate is responsible for providing support to the financial department, by managing daily accounting tasks.
- The Account Associate will be part of a team of professionals working to maintain order and transparency for the company’s finances.
- The Associate will be well-versed in accounting principles and able to work comfortably with numbers and attention to detail. The goal is to contribute to the overall efficient operation of the department and help the company be fully aware of its financial condition.
Responsibilities
- Manage account payable and receivables
- Reconcile financial data and reporting
- Reconcile and review general ledger entries
- Prepare and review payroll
- Liaise and assist external auditor during financial audit
- Support in preparing management account monthly, quarterly, bi-annually, and annually.
- Tax computation
- Work closely with operation personnel to ensure proper and accurate transaction capturing.
- Support in preparing monthly and quarterly budget
- Prepare and record cash book (bank) transactions in Sage
- Review and book monthly journals
- Internet banking (Payment processing)
- Manage and attend to third parties finance related task.
- Support in developing and continuously improve on the company’s accounting policies, procedures, manuals, key performance indicators etc.
- Assist with other accounting and operations projects.
Required Qualification(s)
Education:
- BSC or MSc in Accounting, Finance or Business.
- Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations preferred, ICAN, ACCA
- Preference for 2nd class upper and above.
- 3 - 6 years work experience.
Skills:
- Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Knowledge of Statutory accounting principles.
- Strong analytical and accounting skills.
- Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of major accounting software packages for both general ledger and statutory accounting.
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to set priorities
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with moderate level of difficulty.
