Job Description

• To perform skilled and semi-skilled work involved in the electrical servicing, maintenance and repair of the vehicles and equipment, heavy construction equipment and other equipment; to maintain simple records related to shop operations; and to perform related duties and responsibilities as required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical maintenance, fault finding and monitoring of the heavy equipments and other related equipment.


• Ensure maximum operational availability of heavy equipment by diagnostic work and repair methods


• Submit routine inspection and monitoring reports as required


• Carry out duties independently when called out and report breakdowns and faults


• Assume additional responsibility for heavy equipment maintenance.


• Ensure that emergency work is followed up.


• Ensure work practice conforms to safety regulations and procedures


• Ensure that all preventive maintenance (electrical) is conducted as defined in the system


• Attend breakdowns as reported by Staff & Equipment Control on immediate basis


• Submit correct information about start time and end time of maintenance activity


• Ensures tidiness and cleanliness of workshop facilities and all equipment for which his team is responsible.


• Driving to the job site.


• Inspecting trucks, cranes, bulldozers, and other heavy equipment for proper performance.


• Diagnosing faults using computerized testing equipment.


• Adjusting equipment and replacing faulty parts.


• Repairing damaged equipment parts.


• Cleaning, lubricating, and conducting routine services on heavy-duty vehicles.


• Cleaning and servicing of machine attachments like winches, blades, and side booms.


• Performing major repair work when necessary.


• Consulting with other mechanics on smaller jobs.


• Reporting damaged or faulty equipment to management.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess a B.Eng Degree with relevant work experience.
