To perform skilled and semi-skilled work involved in the electrical servicing, maintenance and repair of the vehicles and equipment, heavy construction equipment and other equipment; to maintain simple records related to shop operations; and to perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
Responsibilities
Carry out electrical maintenance, fault finding and monitoring of the heavy equipments and other related equipment.
Ensure maximum operational availability of heavy equipment by diagnostic work and repair methods
Submit routine inspection and monitoring reports as required
Carry out duties independently when called out and report breakdowns and faults
Assume additional responsibility for heavy equipment maintenance.
Ensure that emergency work is followed up.
Ensure work practice conforms to safety regulations and procedures
Ensure that all preventive maintenance (electrical) is conducted as defined in the system
Attend breakdowns as reported by Staff & Equipment Control on immediate basis
Submit correct information about start time and end time of maintenance activity
Ensures tidiness and cleanliness of workshop facilities and all equipment for which his team is responsible.
Driving to the job site.
Inspecting trucks, cranes, bulldozers, and other heavy equipment for proper performance.
Diagnosing faults using computerized testing equipment.
Adjusting equipment and replacing faulty parts.
Repairing damaged equipment parts.
Cleaning, lubricating, and conducting routine services on heavy-duty vehicles.
Cleaning and servicing of machine attachments like winches, blades, and side booms.
Performing major repair work when necessary.
Consulting with other mechanics on smaller jobs.
Reporting damaged or faulty equipment to management.
Requirements
Candidates should possess a B.Eng Degree with relevant work experience.
