  • We require a Senior lawyer to coordinate all corporate / commercial legal issues and projects.

  • This role would require travel.


Job Description





  • Handle all corporate legal processes (e.g. intellectual property, financial/securities offerings, compliance issues, transactions, agreements, patents

  • Guarantee that all our company’s transactions comply with state laws and regulations, while actively helping our company avoid possible legal risks and violations.

  • Leading all corporate legal processes such as mergers, compliance issues, transactions, partnerships, and lawsuits.

  • The successful candidate will have outstanding negotiation and communication skills, with sharp attention to detail.

  • Prepare the appropriate legal documents for trial or court proceedings.

  • Evaluate new business partnerships with vendors and subcontractors.

  • Represent the company in legal proceedings.

  • Design and oversee the company’s policy and position on legal matters.

  • Protect the company against legal risks and violations.

  • Examine the legal issues related to new products and services.

  • Negotiate deals on behalf of the company.

  • Guide management on regulatory and compliance issues to ensure compliance with legal regulations.

  • Research, anticipate and guard the firm against legal risks and violations.

  • Structure, draft and review reports and other legal documents.

  • Engaging and working closely with external legal counsel as and when required.


Requirements



  • Minimum Qualification: Degree

  • Proven experience as a lawyer or similar position.

  • Licensed to practice law from the Bar Association.

  • Proven background on commercial law (contract law, tax law, accounting, securities law, bankruptcy, intellectual property rights, licensing, zoning laws, etc.).

  • Excellent technical understanding of Nigerian law relating to corporate and commercial law, capital markets, corporate banking,corporate finance, properties etc.

  • Minimum of 5 years post call to bar experience.

  • Experience in  a Corporate setting is an added advantage
