Job Description
The Marshall/ Patrol Officer would be responsible for coordinating all rescue operations, intercepting illegal activities of company truck drivers and resolving all transitional issues within assigned locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform patrol duties to prevent crime and catch criminals using activities such as foot patrols, vehicle patrols and surveillance.
- Ensure safety of company asset and company drivers.
- Initiate recovery and intervention for trucks in distress or apprehended.
- Ensure that drivers adhere to health and safety guidelines on-site
- Maintain relationships with local, state and federal law enforcement and other related government agencies.
- Collaborate with external police authorities in the investigation of crimes, accidents, etc. involving the company and its drivers.
- Search and inspect truck of drivers while in transit to identify traces of any illegal activity and escalate where appropriate.
- Participate in drivers verification and submit clear and concise report
- Monitor driver’s activities while on the road and coordinate rescue actions.
- Facilitate the safe movement of trucks to and fro loading and offloading site.
- Maintain regular communication with site office and truck drivers.
- Identify on-trip executions /irregularities and take immediate action.
- Initiate recovery and intervention of trucks in distress or apprehended.
- Act as official escorts, to drivers or other employees as required
- Attend to dispute calls, address emergency situations and contact local police station when needed
- Prepare reports detailing investigations or court proceedings
- Respond to applicable and ad hoc request
Requirements
- Minimum of OND/ HND
- Proven experience working in a security outfit.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and must know how to drive
- Physically it and be able to stand for extended periods.
- Good record keeping skills.
- A clean driving record and with no traffic violations.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Use of discretion and tact.
- Good attention to details.
