Job Summary
- This position includes the oversight and management of day-to-day operations of the Foundation.
- The Foundation Manager needs to be able to work independently and take ownership of the management of the Foundation.
- He or she will provide executive assistance to the President of the Foundation and manage all Foundation activities, including donor recordkeeping and correspondence, research, donor commitments, grant writing, and overall Foundation support.
Job Responsibilities
Reporting:
- Prepare reports, lists and track progress of campaigns monthly
- Run weekly reports for the Fund
- Schedule and update Foundation meeting agenda with current numbers and list of major donors
- Manage and report correspondence with donors
- Run and analyze monthly reports; identifying opportunities and looking for trends in contribution patterns
- Lead prospective management processes and review schedules
- Gather information to prepare annual and semi-annual trustee reports
Donor Relations and Gift Processing:
- Serve as a reliable expert on procedures for processing contribution, including gift contributions; and bank deposits
- Enter data into the Foundation’s database, produce thank you notes/receipts and reports for annual and campaign gifts
- Import, enter, record and update biographical and event information, including but not limited to donor information, actions and notes in an accurate and timely manner
- Answer gift-related emails, letters and phone calls
- Enter actions for donor meetings or contact with donors in database
- Answer questions, facilitate planned gifts (along with the Foundation President) and attend at least one planned giving seminar a year
- Work with Foundation President to plan donor events/visits, and prepare information packs
Foundation Relations:
- Identify and submit new grant proposals for potential institutional donors
- Write grant proposals and follow-up reports to target partner foundations and institutions
Marketing:
- Update Foundation fact sheet monthly
- Work with Marketing to create new flyers and execute specialized projects
Operations:
- Support Foundation President with draft proposals as needed
- Analyze budget forecasts
- Assist Foundation President in preparation of annual Foundation budget
- Understand and remain consistent with confidentiality laws of any and all donor information
- Adhere to industry standards in fundraising
Required Experience
- 2-5 years of relevant experience such as: event planning; program administration, financial reporting, administrative assistance and scholarship administration in a nonprofit organization is a plus.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- A degree(s) in a relevant field
- Demonstrated ability to be a well-organized self-starter with the ability to work autonomously and effectively within a team;
- Ability to plan, multi-task, set work priorities, track projects with detail and meet deadlines whilst maintaining confidentiality;
- Fluency in computer applications, including Microsoft office and Google suite. Social media savvy is an added advantage.
- High regard for quality and accuracy, attention to detail, excellent organizational and time management skills;
- High level of interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate effectively through written and oral mediums
- Excellent public speaking and listening skills; and
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems using analytical and reasoning skills.
Remuneration
N200,000 - N300,000 Monthly.
