Prepare and plan seed production schedule in accordance with seed production targets indicated by management for the year.
Contribute to the screening and selection of out-growers for yearly seed production activities.
Participate in planting, rouging, detasseling, and harvesting as well as provide technical backstopping on recommended agricultural practices for seed production.
Seed production of open pollinated varieties, inbred lines, and hybrids.
Monitor and ensure quality control standards for production of foundation and/or certified seeds of open pollinated variety, inbred lines and hybrids are met.
Maintain records for seed production outputs, farm management practices and parent stock delivery.
Implement and enforce quality assurances and control, tracking of programs to meet quality objectives.
Establishment of demonstration plots and high-way seed plots for training of farmers on good agricultural practices
Conduct training to farmers on field management practices and organize farmers field day in collaboration with other staff.
Prepare and maintain seed production reports
Supervise field staff and ensure effective utilization of resources.
