Summary
Working from our headquarters Lagos, the Program Manager is responsible for aligning the firm’s internal processes with success to ensure that the firm’s staff can support its strategic direction and growth with high productivity and optimism about meeting future goals.
The Program Manager will be unrelenting about promoting and implementing processes and procedures that improve the firm’s financial health and overall efficiency.
Reporting Relationships:
- The Program Manager reports to the Country Manager. All staff report first to the Program Manager and then to the Country Manager. As such, the Program Manager serves as the liaison between staff and the Country Manager.
- The Ideal Candidate
- The Program Manager will work to implement strategy and vision, build the firm’s culture, and serve as a key member of the senior leadership team. The Program Manager will work systematically to meet the firm’s goals by addressing key staffing, process, and infrastructure issues.
- The Program Manager will take the firm’s priorities and direction, translate them into day-to-day standard operating procedures. The ideal candidate will monitor and assess ongoing strategies, conduct midcourse corrections, and generally keep the management team informed of the firm’s operations, including how its finances, technology, staffing relates to important goals. The Program Manager will offer oversight to hiring and will lead the preparation of operating budgets and forecasts for the organisation. The ideal candidate will play a formative role in building the culture of the firm around positive stakeholder management, accountability, and results. The Program Manager provides oversight for the training, mentoring and capacity building at the firm. He or she will be an internal advocate for efficiency, productivity, and professional development.
Core Responsibilities
The Program Manager will:
- Serve as second-in-command to the Country Manager and as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
- Participate in the strategic planning process at the firm.
- Oversee all operations daily and report directly to the Country Manager, ensuring that all business operations are smooth and efficient.
- Establish productive working relationships between and among the Senior Leadership Team, Country Manager, and the staff to ensure that the firm operates profitably and productively.
- Provide oversight for the firm’s budget, development, and external relations activities.
- Build and cultivate a high-performing team and play an active role in attracting, retaining, and developing best-in-class staff.
- Identify and implement cost-effective ways to deliver state-of-the-art programs to stakeholder
- Participate in identifying and cultivating corporate, individual and foundation sponsors.
- Cultivate excellent relationships with local media; provide oversight for the firm’s presence on social media.
- Serve as a public representative of the firm, in the absence of the Country Manager, keeping the firm current and an active participant in regional and community events.
Key Credentials and Personal Qualities
- Master's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field
- 3 to 5 years successful senior leadership experience at a social impact or notfor-profit organization
- Background of success in process improvement, change leadership and change management
- Commitment to results; "can-do" mindset with emphasis on accountability
- Experience at Strong motivational and staff leadership abilities
