Executive (Legal) Assistant to the Principal, Firm/CEO, TDSH
Scope of Work
- Generally, assist Principal of Adeyemi-Akisanya Associates (the “Firm”)/CEO, The Dispute Solutions Hub (“TDSH”) in achieving an efficient administration, development, management and organization of the business and practice of the Firm and The Dispute Solutions Hub - TDSH
- Assist Principal of the Firm/CEO, TDSH (“P-CEO”) in:
- managing matters, transactions, and cases from beginning to end for clients;
- advising clients concerning business transactions, claims, liabilities, and enforcement options with respect to contractual rights and interests;
- all things necessary effectively to represent clients in Mediation, negotiation, and other ADR processes; and, whenever necessary or instructed,
- representing clients before government officials, offices, and agencies.
- Conduct research to enable the Firm, TDSH and P-CEO properly advise clients including:
- interpreting laws, rulings and regulations for individuals and businesses;
- analyzing the probable outcomes of cases, using knowledge of law and legal precedents;
- researching, preparing, and writing memoranda of opinion;
- preparing and drafting all sorts of legal documents;
- assisting in the negotiating and advising on contracts, and transactions;
- preparing, reviewing, and finalizing transaction documents; and
- preparing papers and presentations for webinars, seminars, and publications.
- Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law; and supervise legal attachés and externs.
- Manage and Coordinate Events for the Firm and TDSH.
- Arrange and Attend Meetings with P-CEO.
- Prepare and circulate Minutes of Meetings.
- Manage confidential Documents for the Firm and ensure accurate filing system is always maintained.
- Coordinate arrangements for Seminars, Webinars, Roundtables, etc., including but not limited to:
- Setting up Video & Telephone conference meetings (Zoom, Skype, Teams, etc.);
- Handling case management and coordination of back-office arrangements for TDSH Mediation and related ADR matters; and
- Preparing reports and submit to management for action
- Manage all correspondence and ensure the dispatch of all Outgoing Correspondence.
- Ensure the safety of all Documents.
- Set up proper record of all Documents.
- Prepare correspondences (Letters and Memos) on behalf of P-CEO for signature.
- Organize, manage, and administer:
- Contract and Agreement forms and processes for the Firm and TDSH; and
- Prepare weekly tracking reports for all Executed Contracts.
Qualifications, Skills, Experience, and Attributes
- Have appropriate degree(s), as well as professional qualifications, certifications or licence and relevant work experience. These will include, without limitation:
- First degree in Law;
- Admission to the Nigerian Bar, in good standing; and
- Membership of professional association, e.g., CIArb, CIPM, SCMA.
- A second undergraduate or post graduate degree not necessary but will be a plus.
- Possess the following attributes, namely, viz:
- Able to work with minimum supervision;
- Have high proficiency in use of IT – Word, PowerPoint, Excel – for reports and presentations;
- Have high proficiency or good working experience in Online conferencing facilities (Zoom, Skype, Teams, MODRON, CREK, etc.);
- Have excellent writing, speaking and other communication skills; and
- Able and willing to work under pressure.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and experience in handling of processes such as Lands and other Real Estate, Court, Corporate Affairs, Probate and other statutory/regulatory searches, perfections, and filings.
- Versatility in the use of Social Media applications, like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn will be a plus.
Start Date and Contract
- Anticipated Start date is January 9, 2023. An earlier start may be considered if necessary in appropriate circumstances.
