My client, an International media company based in Lagos, are experiencing a period of growth and currently recruiting for a Blogger- Content writer:
Key Accountabilities
- Researching various industry-related topics (combining online sources, interviews and studies)
- Develops and write news stories and other articles.
- Monitors politics, trending issues, popular culture as well as news
- Re-writes/translates wire copy, stories for the newscast, teases, and marketing
- Researches facts and background information for Programming.
- Proofread and edit blog posts before publication
- Reads major newspapers and online services daily.
- Forwards articles pertinent to the major news of the day.
- Suggests future stories and promote content on social media
- Is able to create individual content, and copywriting as and when required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Marketing, English, or related field
- 1-3years of professional writing experience as a Blogger/Content Writer, Copywriter or similar role
- Portfolio of published articles
- Experience doing research using multiple sources
- Familiarity with web publications
- Ability to work effectively
- Self-discipline and time management skills
