Responsibilities

• Write a book outline to gain approval from the publisher in accordance with the national curriculum and scheme of work.


• Develop the content for the book, with lesson or review questions at the end of the chapters, depending on the subject and type of textbook.


• Updating existing books for schools and publishers to reprint.


• developing learning guides for students to use along with the primary manual, adapting books to other formats, such as ebooks, and ensuring the accuracy of information.


• Acquire manuscripts for review


• Read, edit, and write content so that it is correct and understandable to the reader


• Work with the author to develop content in keeping with the publication's style and editorial policy


• Maintain good working relationships with authors and other key staff such as production, proofreaders, graphics artists, and marketing personnel


• Keep track of scheduled dates to ensure manuscript publishes on time


• Review and markup page proofs and online content


• Work with marketing to promote the book by submitting content for both print and online announcements.

Requirements and Skills

• Must have a Degree in Education.


• Must have taught in a school with 3-4 years experience


• Must have creative ideas .


• Excellent writing ability


• Ability to point out typographical, grammatical and illustration errors in a book.


• A great proofreader


• Strong research skills


• Critical thinking to discern false information is important.


• Proficiency with computer software and word processing programs like Microsoft Word.
