Job Description



  • Design and implement strategic communication initiatives that include print and radio media, digital and social media channels, and niche communications to increase the visibility and understanding of the institution’s vision and purpose.

  • Proactively identify opportunities for engagement and influence by being current with developments that relate to all key stakeholders and partners.

  • Anticipate reputational risk issues and develop and implement appropriate communication actions.

  • Develops and implement a communications strategy for the corporation that builds and maintains a positive corporate brand.

  • Plan and manage the design, content, and production of all marketing materials.

  • Work with senior management and department staff to determine the areas where the institution can impact the regional and international dialogue on development issues through the development and publication of materials, and participation in selected public speaking events.

  • Work with management to develop internal communications programs and processes required to support organizational change and employee engagement initiatives.

  • Oversees corporate communications and branding in various online and print platforms such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and industry magazines.

  • Assists executive leadership in developing presentations, speeches, and other important corporate messages.

  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.

  • Build a communications team that can ‘take charge’ of key deliverables.


Requirements



  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.

  • Master's in Business Administration is an added advantage

  • Minimum of 7 years of managerial experience in the corporate communications field.

  • Management experience in supervising a team of 20 persons.

  • A successful track record of managing new media and digital channels, including website development.

  • Ability to track , evaluate and measure team performance

  • Multiple years of experience in public relations, including supervisory and comprehensive marketing experience required.

  • Exceptional research, writing, editing, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Strong diplomatic and persuasive skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage reputational risk.

  • Superlative communication skills in all forms.

  • Excellent strategic organization skills.

  • Excellent managerial skills.

  • Ability to use tact and professionalism including in times of extreme stress.

  • Ability to think creatively.
