Job Summary
This role will be focused on enhancing Moringa’s visibility in the West African market — to customers, the public and Media. For this role you will be required to work closely with Moringa’s Growth Project Manager based in Nigeria to ensure the successful launch of Moringa’s Software Engineering Bootcamp and short courses.
The Marketing Communications specialist is responsible for representing Moringa externally, driving marketing partnerships, developing and implementing community engagement initiatives that increases brand visibility and drives lead generation through but not limited to offline channels.
You will take a lead role in strategizing, planning, implementing and measuring outreach, events & partnerships initiatives for the following customer segments:-
Prospective students
Prospective partnerships
Prospective stakeholders that drive lead generations including: Employer Partners Youth Organizations, Universities, Community Leads, Tech Communities, High School communities
Key Responsibilities
Functional:
Strategy
Work with the Growth Project Manager to develop and implement comprehensive and innovative marketing strategies.
Events
Planning and executing successful thought partnership events,lead generating events and awareness creation events.
Coordinating all online and offline events e.g workshop events, attending education expos and exhibitions, partnership events, launches, conferences to realize our goals Drive and support admissions with activities that enable pipeline conversions
Overseeing the procurement process related to upcoming events; like marketing collateral, give-aways and gifts for speakers.
Create and oversee all event calendars and checklists for related activities.
Ensure continuous improvements of events/ processes are undertaken and necessary remedial actions are introduced as effectively as possible.
Monthly update of events & communication work-plan to be shared with the growth project manager
Partnerships
Submit proposals to engage potential tech community partners on behalf of Moringa School this includes developing concepts, gathering and formatting information and preparing clear communications
Work collaboratively and seamlessly with partner organizations.
Develop event concepts to drive partnership engagement
Research
Assist with market research and developing plans for increasing Moringa School’s brand awareness through community engagement
Assist with competitor, customer behaviour, product research and analyze market data with Product Marketing Managers for decision making
Social Media
Brand engagement and communication - sharing content regularly across all social media platforms while replying to comments, messages etc.
Monitor sentiment analysis from audience engagement
Organizational:
Communicate with colleagues and share insights on Slack
Utilise the OKR tool to update task status
Weekly coordination and training with Growth Project Manager & Product Marketing Manager
Participate in weekly team kickoffs and monthly assemblies
Reporting:
Performance against OKRs
Periodic reports on events, outreach, partnerships & research projects
Periodic reports on social media engagement and communications

About You
Required (Education and Experience):
Bachelor's Degree
2 - 3 years work experience in PR, Communications, Events Management, Community Outreach and/or Marketing is highly desirable
Proven success in meeting and exceeding performance goals.
Must have documented successful partnership cultivation experience
Event Management & project management skills is a plus
Experience working in the tech ecosystem and or educational institution is highly preferred
Soft Skills:
Has a strong performance orientation and skillful strategic thinking. Establishes clear expectations and continuously measures performance.
The ability to work through stringent deadlines with acute attention to detail is required. Maintains focus on priorities.
Self-starter with the ability to manage time effectively.
Demonstrates excellence in both oral and written communications. Knowledge of external communications and cultivation techniques are essential.
Ability to coordinate all aspects of an event including – logistics, correspondence, financial reports, and printed materials.
Ability to interact with partners and is comfortable with public speaking
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Drive
Proficiency in proposal writing, reports & creating presentation decks
Proficiency in event planning & marketing is required
