An early-stage company is looking for a WP developer that is comfortable building their own themes, blocks, and interactive elements. The ability to optimize new and existing code for speed is key in this role. Knowing how to make your own theme/child theme and plugins is also a bonus for this role.

As a WordPress Developer, you will be responsible for customizing WordPress themes at the code level, quality assurance, testing, and other ad-hoc feature requests.

Responsibilities

• Write clean, scalable code


• Troubleshoot and resolve web application issues, providing diagnostic and analytical support


• Install plug-ins and maintain functionality


• Conduct performance analysis and recommend improvements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (preferred but not a requirement)


• At least 2 years of experience with WordPress development


• Experience developing WordPress themes, plugins, and other CMS tools


• Knowledge of standard software development concepts, practices, and procedures


• Exceptional QA skills


• Close attention to detail and accuracy


• Ability to work with minimal direction


• Solution-oriented attitude

Preferred experience

• Experience with WordPress, PHP, HTML, CSS, Javascript (optional)


• Working with REST APIs


• Working with MS SQL Server or other relational databases


• Design
