The Role:
WAVE is currently seeking an Employer Partnership Development Manager who will play an instrumental role in ensuring that over 50% of our graduates obtain a paid job or an internship within one month of graduating from the program. This role is also responsible for developing new businesses with Employers for the Walk-Ins recruitment segments of our strategic goal.
The ideal candidate is a resourceful go-getter who is a strong relationship builder, excited to grow and develop, and willing to work hard to contribute to empowering youth with jobs.
Employment Type: Contract (with the possibility of a full-time)
Nature: Hybrid (Remote Work, Field Meetings, and Occasional In-House Meetings)
Salary: N150k – 250k depending on experience
Location: Yaba, Lagos
Responsibilities:
Selected applicant will be able to work remotely and independently to:
- Proactively generate leads and prospect Employer Partners for WAVE
- Engage with hospitality, retail, and service-oriented recruiters, hiring managers, and leaders in a variety of settings ranging from one-on-one meetings to large events with a focus on developing job leads for WAVE Trainees and Walk-Ins
- Build and utilize personal and professional networks to prospect new businesses
- Collaborate with relevant Units and Team Leads for the achievement of annual strategic goals and periodic targets
- Work collaboratively with the Alumni to deepen their existing employer relationships and maximize Job Shadow or Internship to-hire conversions upon graduation
- Grow and cultivate existing employer relationships by evaluating the fit and success of current trainees, alumni or walk-in candidates, always working towards mutually beneficial long-term partnerships
- Work with the Recruiting Team to improve relationships with existing employers and continue to ensure customer satisfaction.

Successful candidates would have:
- A passion for working with unemployed youth, a firm belief in their potential, and a strong commitment to WAVE’s mission to empower young West Africans with skills linked to jobs.
- Experience within a recruiting, consulting, or youth job readiness organisation is an added advantage
- Comfort with proactive outreach to employers through any/all methods including networking, leveraging your personal network, attending events, and cold calling
- 5+ years of business development and sales experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
- 3+ years of professional experience in a corporate setting
- Demonstrated experience in sales and relationship management, with a proven track record of delivering results
- Excellent customer service skills with solid follow-up and follow-through practices
- Comfort with technology, ability to track work in a CRM system
- Ability to take initiative while consistently modeling professional attire, behavior, and language
- Ability to build strong relationships with multiple stakeholders including youth and corporations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office required
