 Job Summary

The Warehouse Accountant will play a key role within the accounting and finance team and responsibilities will include completing the divisional monthly close, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements, maintaining and improving processes including inventory management, billing and collections. He / She will work with the rest of the accounting team to ensure efficient and timely operations of the accounting function.

Job Description



  • Prepare, review and analyze monthly financial statements for our warehouse facilities and related infrastructure and operations.

  • Supervises all reconciliation accountants and Leads

  • Lead the month-end close process including the initiation, preparation and processing of journal entries for those distribution center operations.

  • Collaborate with warehouse management and the finance team to ensure all parties have an accurate picture of the warehouse and divisional financial performance.

  • Creating quarterly forecasts and relevant KPIs. Provide insight and commentary for all major variances from these targets.

  • Provide financial guidance for all warehouse capital investments and related strategic justifications.

  • Develop and maintain inventory controls and procedures to maintain accurate cost data for all products, safeguard company assets and ensure integrity of financial statements.

  • Recommend process improvements to increase accuracy and timeliness of the accounting close and reporting process.

  • Develop bench strength by supervising, developing and monitoring direct report.

  • Serve as the primary divisional contact for external auditors and other third-party regulators as it relates to warehouse operations. Prepare year-end schedules for auditors.

  • Oversee billing and collections processes.

  • Assist on special projects as needed.


Job Experience



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field.

  • Minimum of 7 years progressive corporate and/or public accounting experience.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Excellent written, oral and analytical skills.

  • Strong organizational skills including the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment.

  • Proven technical accounting skills.

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or distribution company, and knowledge of the accounting function in this environment (including purchasing and inventory transaction, billing and accounts receivable management).

  • Demonstrated proficiency in both ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications, as well as advanced Excel skills, including vlookup, pivot tables and filtering.

  • Ability to identify, analyze and communicate variances between actual results, budget and forecast.
