Reports to: Senior IT Analyst

Job description 

The IT intern will primarily provide first-level IT support to Sydani staff and clients. He/she will undertake fewer technical tasks while learning practical IT skills (such as web design, network engineering, systems design, Python, JavaScript, problem-solving etc.)  and receiving mentorship from more experienced colleagues. Over time, he/she will be given the responsibility to design or create elements that will be used in Sydani’s systems or solutions. 

Responsibilities: Specific duties include 

• 
  

  Facilitate the installation, configuration, monitoring, and repairs of Sydani computer systems 

  
  


• 
  

  Troubleshoot and resolve issues with software or hardware with colleagues and clients 

  
  


• 
  

  Participate in problem-solving sessions to provide fresh, technical perspectives to ongoing projects/workstreams  

  
  


• 
  

  Support the development of new solutions for Sydani’s clients or systems to support Sydani operations  

  
  


• 
  

  Undertake other tasks assigned by the senior IT Analyst 

  
  

Required competencies: 

• 
  

  Experience providing IT support 

  
  


• 
  

  Expertise with Microsoft Windows, 365 and Office Administration 

  
  


• 
  

  Basic network engineering, math, logical and analytical skills 

  
  


• 
  

  Basic knowledge of computer hardware 

  
  

• 
  

  Willingness to problem-solve issues and see tasks through to completion 

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment 

  
  

Required Qualifications  

• 
  

  Bachelor’s degree (First- or second-class upper) from a recognized university in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other IT-related degrees. 

  
  


• 
  

  Minimum One (1) year of experience in a technical support role
