Event Planner/ Designer
An Event production company at Lekki is looking for a successful and enthusiastic Event Planner to produce events from conception to completion. The Event planner will oversee all aspects of event planning, management and event design.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Understanding the complex needs of different events, and diverse clients.
- Planning event aspects, such as venue, seating, dining, and guest list.
- Ability to delegate event planning tasks to other staff members where necessary.
- Strong knowledge of venues and vendor offerings while taking clients on tours of venue possibilities.
- Coordinating event entertainment, including music, performers, and guest speakers.
- Attentive to the value of staying under budget while planning event specifications.
- issuing invoices and collecting payments in a timely manner and creating comprehensive and readable financial reports.
- Preparing contracts of engagement for both clients and vendors
- Managing and overseeing events on the day of, including problem-solving, welcoming guests, directing event set-up, communicating with staff, and organizing vendors, and managing take-down.
- preparing progress reports and keeping clients up to speed on all event plans, while ensuring clients authorize any changes made.
- Anticipating and planning for possible different scenarios.
- creating sales opportunities for future events during client liaisons and during events.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present event ideas and plans to clients and vendors.
- Creates and implements innovative event design concepts and experiences.
- Creates storyboards to include floor plans, rendering, sample fabric, and photos.
- Responsible for concept and proposal development, research, sourcing, and pricing to create profitable events that meet client needs.
- Provides clients with innovative and timely proposals exhibiting thorough knowledge of their needs as pertains to budget and all aspects of the event design.
- stays current on industry and design trends
- Knowledgeable about event venues, i.e., the rules, load in/out times and limitations when drafting proposals
- Responsible for attending site tours and inspections on an as need basis with client and other vendors
- Manage relationships with vendors, venues and clients
- Choose vendors to provide elements of the event décor: this includes everything from stationery for invitations to fabrics for curtains and tablecloths, centerpieces for tables, special effects, and lighting equipment.
- Create project plans and deadlines for the implementation of all design elements.
Requirements
Qualifications While we are open to recruiting candidates from other industries with proven relevant transferable skills, the following qualifications are a plus. ·
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience. ·
- Previous event industry experience. ·
- Previous interior design experience ·
- Team management Experience ·
- Proficiency in event design software such as CAD, Viven ·
- Proficiency in Microsoft office is a must. ·
Salary: 100,000-150,000 depending on experience
