Job Description
Jaola Workshop Clothing Manufacturer is now looking for a Production Officer to join their fast-growing team. Candidate must be able to commute to the manufacturing studio.
As a Production Officer, you'll make sure clothing garments are produced safely, cost-effectively and on time and that they meet the required quality standards.
Responsibilities
As a production manager, you'll oversee the production process, coordinating all production activities and operations as well as procurement. You'll need to:
- plan and draw up a production schedule
- reach out to various bulk vendors, collate their information (fabrics, zips, buttons, linings) This may require to go on trips to different markets to gather information
- decide on and order the resources that are required to produce the garments such as threads, zips, lining, buttons etc.. and ensure stock levels remain adequate
- ensure tailors have the right equipments
- set the quality standards for garment production
- ensure that the production will be cost effective by estimating costs and negotiating and agreeing budgets with workshop manager
- monitor the production processes and adjust schedules as needed
- monitor productivity rates and product standards and implement quality control processes
- ensure and reinforce quality control of garments before shipped to clients
- organise the repair of any damaged equipment
- liaise with the Workshop Manager, Fashion Designer and Pattern Drafters
- ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed at all times
- ensure customer orders are completed on time and to budget and that quality standards and targets are met
- work with managers to implement the company's policies and goals
- collate and analyse data, putting together production reports for both managers and Director
- supervise and motivate a team of workers Pattern Drafters and Tailors,
- Review worker performance and identify training needs.
You'll be involved in the pre-production (planning) stage as well as the production (control and supervision) stage. A large part of the job is dealing with garments, deadlines, reports, procurement and quality checks.
