Job Objective



  • The project accountant is responsible for monitoring the progress of projects, tracking expenses, investigating variances, following up on Service Entry (SE) and ensuring that project billings are issued to clients and payments collected.


Responsibilities



  • Maintain project related records, including contract documents and vouchers.

  • Review and cross check suppliers invoices and delivery notes for material supplies relating to a project and transfer due invoice to Group Finance Manager (GFM) for approval and payment.

  • Regular updating of Budget and Identification of Variances.

  • Ensures efficient coordination of various cost centers, departmental and designated accounts by monitoring the budgeting systems and financial records.

  • Interprets financial reports and advises the cost center head regarding financial decisions by providing accurate information regarding the financial status of individual accounts, project account and the cost center as a whole.

  • Assists the supervisor in annual budgeting and financial planning by providing allocation and expense projections.

  • General Ledger reconciliation with bank statement, payable and receivable ledgers in ERP.

  • Posting of Invoices, Petty Cash Vouchers and Payment advice from Client.

  • Carry out Analysis on each of the project.

  • Analyzing the payables relating to project.

  • Report on project profitability status to GFM.

  • Respond to requests for more detail from customers.

  • Close out project accounts upon project completion.

  • Perform additional assignments, as directed by the GFM.

  • To maintain all the documents up to date

  • Generate reports and submit to (GFM).

  • To attend audit by the auditors.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or a similar area of study.

  • M.Sc. is added advantage

  • Knowledge of salaries, wages and bonuses of different categories for employees of the organization.

  • Experience in Accounting and Finance with direct financial and accounting skills.

  • Working knowledge of Excel.


Skills:



  • Extensive knowledge in finance and accounting and financial statement preparation.

  • Data Entry Skills, Attention to Detail, Confidentiality, Thoroughness, General Math Skills, Financial Software, Reporting Skills.

  • Knowledge of salaries, wages and bonuses of different categories for employees of the organization.

  • Able to multi-task and work well in a high-stress environment.

  • Great verbal and written communication skills.
