JOB SUMMARY
As a Legal Analyst, you will collaborate with the Head Legal in reviewing contracts and performing different case analyses. The individual will also ensure the company complies with the statutory and corporate governance practices and guidelines as observed in our industry.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The individual must be able to perform each essential duty below satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned:
- Drafting, reviewing and advising in a qualitative manner on legal documentation of all types, including simple and very complex contracts in respect of commercial and FinTech matters within agreed timeframes.
- Provide commercial legal support to all departmental projects and job functions under the supervision of the Head Legal.
- Resolving legal issues in line with the law, best practice and international standards.
- Attending meetings with third parties and stakeholders regarding legal issues involving the above stated matters.
- Ensuring compliance of the Company and its affiliates with all applicable laws and providing sound legal advice on legal obligations and implications on their business conduct, transactions and policies.
- Ensure the development of service level agreements for service support and delivery.
- Conducting research on assigned issues, using existing law files and alternative sources (e.g., computer-assisted searches using the internet, intranet and/or other databases), analyzing information, and summarizing findings.
- Conducting comparative legal analyses on a range of issues in various areas, identifying legal and policy issues, researching relevant precedents, and proposing appropriate solutions
- Handle confidential material and sensitive information discretely.
- Providing administrative and company secretarial as assigned by the Head Legal.
- Ensure data information requests are in compliance with data protection laws
- Provide support with file management and project tracking, as required.
JOB EXPERIENCE
- LLB/BL with a minimum of 5 years of general Legal experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in a top tier commercial law firm with focus in FinTech industry.
- Strong knowledge of corporate and/or commercial law; commitment and enthusiasm in the delivery of the organization's objectives.
- Experience in capital markets, M&A and banking transactions is a plus.
- Excellent written &verbal communication skills.
- Excellent team working ability to ensure smooth operation in the Legal Unit as a whole.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion.
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex commercial transactions.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make recommendations by using data and judgment that is consistent with company culture as well as standards, practices, policies, procedures, or governing law.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
