Job Description
Job Brief:
We are looking for retail accountants to help reconcile the sales to the funds received via all tenders collected, monitoring cash management compliance and providing daily retail support in all related areas.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and perform daily account reconciliations between the POS & funds collected for all retail sales (ie. cash, credit card, etc.)
- Control of the correctness of sales collection documentation received from the stores
- Analyze discrepancies and continuously follow up with the retail teams for explanations
- Control and reconciliation of advances from customers and credit vouchers issued to customers
- Daily support to the store about cash management issues
- Preparation and posting of sale invoices
- Report Monthly Net Sales
- Involvement during the stocktake processes throughout store network, including checks and audits
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Degree Accounting
- Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience; retail industry experience a plus
- Good knowledge of English
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Analytical, research, and problem resolution abilities
- Strong time management skills - detail and deadline orientated, with great multi-tasking skills Works well under pressure and tight deadlines
- Agile and able to work in a fast paced environment
- Team-oriented and flexible in assuming new responsibilities as they arise
- Ability to have an overall overview although working with a considerable amount of detailed information
- Must be resident in Ibadan.
