Job Summary



  • The company requires to fill the role of a Technical Assistant - Set Swinger.

  • You would be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining the electronic equipment used to transmit radio and television programs.

  • He will control audio equipment to regulate the volume level and quality of sound during radio and television broadcasts and also operate the transmitter to broadcast radio or television programs.


Job Description



  • Maintain logs of production activities

  • Monitor strength, clarity, and reliability of incoming and outgoing signals and adjust equipment as necessary to maintain quality broadcasts

  • Monitor broadcasting operations to ensure proper functioning.

  • Operate communications, transmissions, or broadcasting equipment.

  • Observe, monitor, and converse with station personnel to determine audio and video levels and to ascertain that programs are airing

  • Monitor broadcasting operations to ensure proper functioning.

  • Monitor and log transmitter readings

  • Select sources from which programming will be received or through which programming will be transmitted

  • Operate communications, transmissions, or broadcasting equipment.

  • Align antennae with receiving dishes to obtain the clearest signal for transmission of broadcasts from field locations

  • Operate communications, transmissions, or broadcasting equipment.

  • Report equipment problems to ensure that repairs are made and make emergency repairs to equipment when necessary and possible

  • Maintain recording or broadcasting equipment.

Qualifications



  • Degree / Diploma in Broadcasting, Electrical or its equivalent from a recognized institution.

  • 2 years relevant experience preferably in media.

  • Good working knowledge of TV and radio broadcast systems.

  • Ability to troubleshoot, repair and maintain electrical equipment.

  • Valuable knowledge of transmission systems & mediums — satellite links, microwave links, OFC links, encoding & decoding systems, DVBT2 & CAS.

  • Computer literate.

  • Ability to monitor processes, materials, and surroundings.

  • Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work.

  • Basic knowledge of Video Media Asset Management systems and workflow.

  • Good knowledge of electrical and electronic systems.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • High degree of integrity and dependability.
