Job Description



JOB OBJECTIVE:


Generates ideas about the business and up to date knowledge of the market place, competitors and trends.


Business Development:




  • Prepare detailed business plan for management approval.




  • Develop systems and procedures required for the unit.




  • Responsible for spotting business opportunities, evaluate inbound inquiries build a partnership




  • collaborate with internal units, negotiate and close out business deals.




  • Identify key decision markers within the international oil companies (IOCs) and national oil




  • companies (NOC).




  • Build and sustain good working relationship with key personnel within the IOCs such as ExxonMobil, Total, Chevron, Shell etc.




  • Conduct extensive market research on business activities and continuous gathering of information.




  • Develop and implement business strategies to drive growth in the organization




  • Investigate the economic conditions surrounding business activities such as industry trends and




  • Build and strengthen relationships with old and existing clients and create new clients.




  • Identify brown field opportunities.




  • Develop relationship with independent




  • Ensure company’s compliance with all existing government and labor laws and requirements.




  • Having a ready organogram for all the E&P companies.




Procurement Duties:




  • Estimate and establish cost parameters and budgets for purchases.




  • Create and maintain good relationships with vendors/suppliers.




  • Make professional decisions in a fast-paced environment.




  • Maintain records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.




  • Review and analyse all vendors/suppliers, supply, and price options.




  • Develop plans for purchasing equipment, services, and supplies.




  • Negotiate the best deal for pricing and supply contracts.




  • Ensure that the products and supplies are high quality.




  • Maintain and update list of suppliers and their qualifications, delivery times, and potential future development




  • Work with team members and other units when necessary to complete duties as needed.




  • Development of procurement strategies for preparation and presentation to directors.




  • Meticulously manage all aspects of procurement from negotiation to delivery.




  • Participate in prequalification of suppliers as necessary and evaluation of commercial bids.




  • Preparation of negotiation strategies and procurement negotiations as appropriate.




  • Ensure all Contract and Purchase Order close-out is undertaken in a timely manner, including the resolution of claims as and when required




  • Oversee estimation of Freight costs and call-off freight forwarding services from suppliers, to meet required on-site dates at minimum costs




  • Provide sound advice on specifications and actively take the lead negotiating high value contracts




  • Readily take up ownership and confidently handled complex/difficult negotiations that regularly Lead to notable cost savings.




  • Command credibility and gains supplier’s respect.




  • Promote procurement influence, while establishing long-lasting working relationships




Bids and Proposals:




  • To lead the planning, organization, and monitoring of all aspects of the preparation of Bids from expression of interest preparation to the start of contract negotiations.




  • Prepare and regularly update the bid preparation work plan.




  • Assist in reviewing and signing-off proposals and other tender documents




  • To carry out research and related activities:




    • Personnel and company searches




    • Market and project related Intelligence






Qualifications




  • A minimum of first degree in Business Administration or any related discipline. A Masters degree or membership in a professional body will be an added advantage.




  • A minimum of 4 years of working experience in similar role in the oil and gas industry
