Job Description
Our Client, a high player in the Oil and Gas sector, needs is desirous of filling the position of Accountant in Abuja.
Responsibilities:
- Take charge of Financial and management activities within the business unit including but not limited to:
- Reporting all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with the company’s.
- Generating reports and analysis from operational financial transactions in line with agreed timelines
- Ensuring regular management of cash book.
- Optimize the handling of banking relationships for staffs Salary Accounts.
- Assuming full responsibility for the preparation of Monthly Income Statements and advice based on indices shown by reports.
- Fully implementing and monitoring ongoing compliance with the expected profitability of all company’s Branches.
- Developing and implementing systems to ensure the collection, reporting, and analysis of monthly operations accounting documents from all brands.
- Reconcile financial statements, while identifying and addressing discrepancies.
- Prepare process invoices and send bank deposits.
- Cross-checking invoices with payments and expenses to ensure accuracy.
Requirements:
Skills:
- Practical and thorough understanding of the principles of Accounting & Financial Management.
- Strong MS Excel Skills.
- Basic Treasury Management skills.
- Strong experience in target setting and forecasting.
General Skills:
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills
- High degree of communication skills, particularly attuned to working well with non-finance professionals
- Good Oral and written Communication skills.
Educational Qualifications/Experience:
- Minimum academic qualification of a university degree or equivalent
- Years of working experience in an Oil and Gas Organisation.
- Possession of a recognized professional accounting qualification
