SUMMARY

We are a new-age, goal-driven financial services Group, with 3 subsidiaries (consumer lending, fund management, and securities trading) regulated by the Central Bank of Nigeria and the Securities and Exchange Commission. We are also a Venture Capital Firm with investments in about 50 tech start-ups. If you are a vibrant commercial lawyer interested in working on impactful projects, this role was created for you.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review and advise on legal documents and structures for all transactions within the Group.


• Advise, review and structure all venture capital transactions undertaken by the Group.


• Ensure proper and adequate Corporate governance procedures and processed are enforced across the Group.


• Handle Company Secretarial services, as well as ensure periodic filing/returns to Regulators.


• Identify gaps and recommend improvement opportunities.


• Review and Update current policies in line with Regulatory Guidelines.


• Keep Abreast of regulatory developments within or outside the Group.


• Maintain constant and cordial relationship with Regulators.  

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law


• LLM in any area of law and membership of a professional association will be an added advantage


• At least 5 years post-call experience as a commercial transactions lawyer in a Law Firm.


• Strong analytical and reasoning skills; able to break down complex problems and projects into manageable pieces; comfortable suggesting and presenting solutions.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills presenting complex analytical results to technical and non-technical audiences.


• Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment.


• General awareness of trends in the legal and investment space.
