Job Description



  • Investment and Trade Manager will be responsible for all Welcome2Africa International’s (W2A) efforts to facilitate trade and investment into and across Nigeria.

  • As such this manager will oversee the design, implementation and commercialization of our programs, research endeavors, and investment / trade facilitation.

  • The Investment and Trade Manager will manage stakeholder relationships and work to facilitate trade and investments.

  • In addition to this further develop our investor database whilst increase successful engagements between our investors and our investees.


Key Roles and Responsibilities

Investments and Trade:



  • Facilitate partnership with investors, foreign government agencies, donor organizations, private firms, international organizations and other service providers interested in trade and investment in Africa–Most especially Nigeria.

  • Serve as the key point of contact for the investment community-manage the investor relations portion of the website, develop a robust investor relations strategy & framework and boost investor confidence in the company’s vision for delivering shareholder value.

  • Take responsibility of all aspects of the deal process - Lead duediligence, manage advisors, conduct site visits and expert interviews, assess market opportunity, sensitize financial forecasts and portfolio diversification

  • Develop and execute strategy for outreach, attracting and onboarding qualified start-ups

  • Designing & managing Incubation and Acceleration programs as well as manage portfolio

  • Facilitate trade and investments

  • Provide high-quality coaching and advisory support to entrepreneurs


Research:



  • To oversee and develop Welcome2Africa International’s research endeavors in line with company objectives

  • Identifying & developing potential research & enterprise income sources, promoting these opportunities to relevant colleagues, supporting staffin preparing grant and commercial applications, managing the application / tendering / contracting process and providing post-award support

  • Develop and kickoff Agri-entry program

  • Develop business plan for the research department

  • Participating in research activities such as analysing economic trends, industry developments, and company performance


Programs:



  • Oversee development of local and foreign investment programs 

  • Development of programs and project inline with Welcome2Africainternational goal and objectives especially with respect to profitability and revenue

  • Managing client relationships (KPI alignment, deliverable validation, feedback,etc.)

  • Identify areas of improvement of all programs and share best practices.

  • Track, monitor, and evaluate all program metrics and achieve milestone completion.

  • Ensure that all programs are on track inline with the budget and timeline perspectives.

  • Serving as a liaison between the organization and external investment managers

  • Tracking, monitoring and evaluation of program metrics and milestone completion

  • Ensuring that all program stays on track from a budget and timeline perspective


General:



  • Work hand in hand with the CEO to develop plans for Welcome2Africa International.

  • Ensure Welcome2Africa International meets the forecasted profit outlined and agreed by the CEO and Board.

  • Evaluating the performance of the organization’s current assets and identifying areas that could be improved

  • Write grant proposals and research partnership opportunities, Engage stake holders during Programs.

  • General project management and trade facilitation efforts required

  • Any other tasks assigned by my supervisor.


Job Specification

Qualification:



  • Candidates should possess a B.Sc / HND qualification in Business Administration / Management, Accounting, Finance, Marketing or any other relevant discipline from a reputable institution.

  • An MBA or Master's Degree in any business related discipline is an added advantage

  • Ability to manage people effectively and efficiently


Professional Qualification:



  • Any relevant professional certifications from a reputable professional institution


Experience:



  • Minimum of 5 years postgraduation experience in Investment banking or management, Impact investment.
