Responsibilities

• Apply a variety of systematic, disciplined, and quantifiable approaches to the development, operation, and maintenance of software based on defined frameworks and methodologies with the purpose of improving reliability and maintainability


• Work with product owners to interpret feature and functionality requests and develop software in iterative design/build/test cycles using an agile development process.


• Drawing on components from open-source framework and other development tools and frameworks; lead the design, build, test and deploy software components and solutions


• Regularly check code into a continuous integration pipeline based on appropriate methodology to incrementally build the overall system and get immediate feedback on build performance


• Proactively seeks opportunities and lead the implementation of improvements to internal team processes, frameworks, codes and standards.


• Define solution architecture including database structures and entity relationships, technical use cases, develop roadmap and release plan and act as the technical lead/architect in solution development and deployments at multiple clients.


• Lead the development team in the design, development, coding, testing and debugging/ troubleshooting of applications.


• Manage all the activities of the software development team (programming, devops, database management, testing, etc.) and set goals for each team member to ensure timely project delivery.


• Keep up to date with the latest development software


• Hire and train new developers


• Provide guidance to the team in all aspects of software development including code optimisation and troubleshooting and ensure they adhere to development standards


• Ensure proper documentation


• Perform other related tasks assigned by verraki technology lead

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree


• Minimum of 8 years post qualification relevant experience


• Membership of professional organizations/ associations and/or certifications will be an added advantage


• Previous experience in a reputable software development and consulting company


• Demonstrable achievements in landmark projects

Skills / Competence Requirements:

• Experience applying human-centered design/developmental processes while working collaboratively with clients and multidisciplinary project team.


• Deep expertise in various open-source framework and other development tools - javascript, python, C/C++, Dotnet, Java, Flutter, Angular, REACT etc.


• Deep expertise developing and deploying solutions in various platforms – ms azure, google cloud platform, amazon web services platform


• Deep expertise developing both web and mobile solutions across various operating systems, databases and platforms


• Ability to bring ideas and design solutions to life through the system development process


• Ability to work independently and identify and solve problems effectively and efficiently


• Working knowledge of any/some of the following is an added advantage:analytics, machine learning and artificial intelligence, blockchain, virtual and augmented reality, quantum computing, IoT
