Pastel is looking for a mid-level Android Engineer with background and skills in software engineering who is passionate about or want to learn about building fintech products that will serve and transform the lives of millions of small businesses in developing countries.

Role Deliverables:

• Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features


• Work with outside data sources and APIs


• Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability


• Work on bug fixing and improving application performance


• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.

What we are looking for:

• Minimum of Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.


• 3+ years Experience in developing native Android applications


• Should have Strong experience in developing Android application with MVVM architecture


• Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes


• Proficient in Android Jetpack libraries such as Lifecycle, Room, Navigation, Data Binding and Paging


• Strong experience in integration of REST APIs and familiarity with the latest mobile app UI UX standards


• Solid understanding of the full-android mobile development life cycle.


• Knowledge of working with version control system: Git


• Ability to execute independently and autonomously, seeking out areas that need attention, rather than being asked to look at specific problem areas.


• Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority


• Willingness to get their hands dirty.


• Strong communication and organization skills.
