Job Summary

• We are recruiting a Pig Farm Manager for a facility that has 800+ sows. The chosen candidate will join a busy and growing free-range farming enterprise. The successful applicant will have a chance to establish a rewarding career with a progressive, forward-thinking employer.


• The ideal candidate will need to have excellent pig knowledge, self-motivation and drive to take ownership and responsibility for the enterprise and constantly look for improvements.


• The successful candidate will be actively involved and responsible for managing staff and ensuring the condition of the livestock is maintained at a high standard.

Job Description

Duties of the required Farm Manager include:

• Candidates need to be enthusiastic about outdoor finishing pigs and be competent & confident to manage 8000 pigs and a team of four staff.


• Plan, direct, or coordinate the management or operation of the pig farms, operations, or other establishments.


• May hire, train, or Supervise farm workers or contract for services to carry out the day-to-day activities of the managed operation.


• Maintain all Farm Assets in a good state of repair and ensure that they are only used for farm purposes unless authorized by the Directors.


• Regular routine preventative maintenance


• Weaning Management of Piglets


• Training operators to appropriately utilize the assets


• Manage the Fauna and Flora of the farm that is in keeping with guidance from experts in the field and environmental regulations.


• Conduct regular animal counts to establish the ratio of pigs to the carrying capacity of the farm and to make regular recommendations to the Directors on removing or increasing animals on the farm.


• Ensure that the general appearance of the farm is upheld in a manner befitting a pig farm.

• Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree qualification
