Role: Retail Sales Supervisor


Our client, a retail firm with rapidly growing hard-discount retail outlets in the various neighborhoods of Lagos, is looking for a young, dynamic Supermarket Supervisor with experience in leading successful teams.


Job Description



  • Monitors shelve stocks and product displays, and the general appearance of the store.

  • Ensures all reports, cash and receipts are correct and complete. .

  • Keep charge of the safety box and the change.

  • Responsible for the final calculation and complete documentation at the end of the shift of each cashier.

  • Implementing measures to avoid stock damages, theft, and wastage

  • Ensures correct money transfers to the bank.

  • Takes charge of all cancellations of total receipt, complaints as well as returns from customers.

  • Randomly checks receipts of customers versus the actual basket.

  • Responsible for keeping all doors and windows closed properly at the end of the day.

  • He decides on orders and order quantities.

  • Ensures that legal requirements, with regards to store sales, are followed

  • Responsible for 100 % price label accuracy.

  • Checks the price accuracy by test purchases, especially after price changes.

  • Checks the deliveries from the Warehouse and direct suppliers and reports any delivery mistakes.

  • Responsible for all books, reports and forms in the store.

  • Training new staff members and scheduling shifts.


Qualification and Requirement



  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, marketing or management-related courses.

  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in a retail environment or supermarket

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a team lead position

  • Experience working in a highly collaborative environment where teamwork and self-motivation were critical

  • Organized and analytical, able to eliminate obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches.

  • Ability to manage a team relationship and productive work environment

  • Proficiency with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

  • Strong leadership, organization, communication, and relationship management skills

  • Professional, client service oriented and positive representative of the firm

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
