Assist in the selection of appropriate suppliers and contractors, to promote good procurement practice with due regard to sustainability, ethical purchasing standards and costing.
Work with internal departments to determine procurement needs, quality and delivery requirements.
Responsible for order placement timing, supply / demand alignment, material replenishment and supplier performance.
Monitor, evaluate and improve supplier performance, according to an appropriate Service Level Agreement, on a continuous basis.
Developing procurement strategies that are inventive and cost-effective.
Sourcing and negotiating with reliable suppliers/vendors to secure advantageous terms.
Approving purchase orders, organising and confirming goods procured.
Performing risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements.
Controlling the procurement budget and promoting a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs with vendors.
Preparing weekly procurement reports.
Follow up on contract and licence renewal and other duties as directed by the management.
Requirements
B.Sc in Economics, Accounting or relevant qualification
Solid knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, policy, and systems
Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a procurement officer.
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
Must live in Ajah or its environs
Ability to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
Ability to negotiate, establish, and administer contracts
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Accurate and precise attention to detail
Ability to work well with management and staff at all levels.
