Job Description



  • We seek to engage the services of a Senior Advisory Consultant. The Senior Advisory Consultant will engage with personnel within Nextier, government officials and development partners to expand the meaningful application of up-to-date knowledge and tools and synthesise cutting-edge insights and ideas plaguing Africa.

  • The ideal candidate will enjoy leading high-performing teams that drive the delivery of innovative and results-oriented solutions for clients by proposing problem-solving and creating tailored frameworks that address client challenges.

  • In addition, this person will excel in solving problems using clear strategic and creative thinking in building the Africa of our dreams.


Responsibilities



  • Lead the day-to-day execution of a client project while guiding and developing individual team members.

  • Develop program scope, support, execute and coordinate programmes and projects.

  • Provide strategy for programme direction and dissemination.

  • Work directly with clients and take ownership of the overall project.

  • Take the lead on the analysis, design, and implementation of business performance approaches.

  • Look out for possible portfolios within the market for expansion.

  • Interface with other sector operators and participants to exchange ideas and information.

  • Develop tailor-made solutions and work closely with clients to ensure positive impact and sustainable results

  • Produce policy briefs for dissemination to project stakeholders.

  • Developing policy briefs, proposals, tender for bids, copy editing, and proofreading articles and briefs.

  • Public relations between Nextier and relevant consultants and sector operators on relevant projects and dialogues

  • Read the sector's books, journals and materials to stay updated and relevant.

  • Research on industry aspects as the need arises.

  • Research on innovations and opportunities for expansion and implementation within the industry.

  • Other related tasks and activities as instructed by the Team Lead.


Requirements



  • Master's Degree in Economics, Development, Social Science or a related field.

  • PhD is an added advantage.

  • At least ten (10) years of experience in management consultancy, including experience managing project teams and building client relationship.

  • Must be a committed self-starter with a passion for consulting and an entrepreneurial spirit, and a strong ability to work independently.

  • Professionalism and demonstrated experience working with senior officials in the public and private sector

  • A passion for international development, typically evidenced by a strong interest and prior exposure to global issues such as economic development, global health, education, or the environment.

  • Proven interest in ideas and solution creation.

  • Knowledge of donor agencies operational procedures.

  • Strong analytical abilities, both quantitative and qualitative.

  • Ability to present information in an insightful and structured manner, both written and oral.

  • Must be able to develop policy briefs, proposals, tender for bids, copy editing and proofread articles and briefs.

  • Attention to detail.
