Job description for Lifting Engineer:


Requirements:



  • BSc/BE/B.Tech./HND in Mechanical or related Engineering discipline with competence in lifting supervision, rigging engineering calculations and designs

  • Minimum of 5 years work experience as Lifting Engineer/ Specialist, 5 years minimum within the Oil and Gas industry and must have a good interpersonal skill, self-sufficient and adaptable, confident in site work situations and under pressure.

  • Working knowledge of engineering software such as AutoCAD, NAVIS Works, STAAD PRO etc. Lifting and Rigging Competency Certificate e.g. LOLER, LEEA, CIS Competent person etc. will be an added advantage


Responsibility and Technical Competence Required



  • Functionally report to the Lead lifting Coordinator and support the MSC contractors to achieve high level of HSE performance in the rigging space in line with clients work standards, lifting procedures and HSE programs

  • Technically involved in lifting operations and participate in risk assessment for ensuring complicated lifts and all complex lifts are engineered to relevant standards

  • Capable to develop detailed scope specific method statement for rigging activities from simple to critical rigging plans, lift data sheets mark up and formal rigging engineering calculations.

  • Provide technical assistance to the Lead lifting Coordinator in providing best practice lifting and rigging guidance for Routine maintenance, campaigns, and shutdown maintenance.

  • Participates in lifting incident investigations and perform technical analysis of critical and complex lifting operations and ensures actions plan are implemented

  • Use skills in supporting the Lead Rigging Coordinator to update rigging and lift procedures in alignment with current best practice and help in developing a robust rigging operations Organization Process Asset

  • Provide oversight functional support to contractor’s workforce by evaluating and motivating to ensure quality of lifting operations is delivered to its best

  • Contribute to FAT, SATs, HAZOPS, HAZIDS, JHA, SIMOPS for lifting equipment and operations

  • Participate in the process of verifying that competent contractor lifting personnel and operators are used to perform lifting and rigging activities

  • Support in house audit and ensure that all lifting equipment been used at site have Test and Examination certificate and are within current test dates. Ensure all requisite colour coding and certification of lifting gears are carried out.


Additional Requirements:



  • Minimum of 5 years post graduate experience in the oil & gas, power process industry.

  • A good knowledge of Microsoft Project and Office Suites

  • Fluent in English Language and Oral proficiency.
