About the Job

• We are looking for a journalist with experience in print media who can use a variety of digital tools as a versatile news reporter to create and publish content.


• You should be able to most importantly write compelling news and feature stories for newspapers and television while also having skills to shoot video, edit audio, or design graphics for your stories.


• By this, you should be able to combine traditional reporting with new media technologies.

Job Duties

• Interviewing individuals and organizations for stories about their lives and experiences


• Collecting and organizing images or video footage for use in stories


• Producing news items on topics such as politics, business, science, sports, entertainment, and health


• Conducting research to identify topics of interest to the audience that may not have been covered recently by other media outlets


• Conducting interviews with newsmakers, experts, and other sources to gather information for articles


• Writing articles for publication, including selecting appropriate titles and subtitles


• Editing video footage of events or programs for broadcast or online use


• Gathering information (Sourcing for news) about breaking news stories through research and interviews with sources


• Managing social media accounts for an organization’s brand or department

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field


• 2-3 years of professional writing experience


• Exceptional research, interviewing, and storytelling skills


• Proficiency with social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram


• Familiarity with basic photo and video editing software


• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• Substantial experience with multimedia production, including photography, videography, and audio editing


• Experience with content management systems, such as WordPress


• Familiarity with social media principles


• Strong interest in news and current events
