Duties and Responsibilities
SALES VOLUME
- Manage your area to deliver
- monthly / yearly NIV and Volume (SKU) target set for your area.
- Ensure Area performance growth in
- NIV and Volume.
CUSTOMER MANAGEMENT
- Responsible for primary sales in your area and ensuring range selling to distributors.
- Ensure distributor's performance growth in NIV and Volume.
- Establish, maintain and expand your customer base.
- Ensure proper management of distributors' accounts.
- Ensure zero debt ratios in all dealings.
- Set monthly targets/objectives for distributors in your area and manage them to achieve success.
- Ensure weekly performance tracking of your distributors and report back to your Line Manager.
- Improve service delivery & service levels, and open vibrant communication channels with your distributors.
- Conduct weekly meetings with all distributors in your area to review performance and resolve challenges.
- Ensure prompt resolution of customer complaints and needs.
- Manage some Key account customers if required.
RE-DISTRIBUTION & RETAIL DEVELOPMENT.
- Develop and drive a redistribution strategy that ensures a direct push of 60% of the distributor’s volume to
- Wholesalers and 40% of the volume to Retailers within the Area.
- Ensure all wholesale and retail outlets in your area are fully covered.
- Ensure all your team members align with the TGI DISTRI Way of Working.
- Each Sales Executive/Rep is to work for 6 days a week, visit 25 outlets per day, 150 outlets per week, achieve not less than 85% strike rate, comply with Daily
- Journey Plan, effectively utilize Salesman Handbook, Customer Record Card (CRC), Daily Route Activity Report (DRAR) and Outlets Call Cards, etc.
- Ensure effective customer/ business development to counter competition activities in retail and wholesale
- outlets in your area.
- Increase business opportunities through various routes to market.
- Ensure accountability for POS and promotional materials deployed to retail and wholesale outlets in your Area.
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT SKILLS
- Monitor your team's performance and manage them to achieve targets.
- Allocate coverage territory to each member of your team.
- Set daily, weekly and monthly targets for every member of your team and ensure daily, weekly and monthly
- performance tracking & review.
- Ensure a minimum of one full-day route accompaniment with each member of your team every week.
- Actualize continuous training and field coaching of all your team members.
STOCK MANAGEMENT
- Ensure close monitoring of distributors' stocks and achieve zero incidences of product expiry.
- Ensure that the FIFO principle is strictly adhered to in all customer outlets in your area.
- Ensure that products are stored properly in approved warehouses/stores and at the right stack level. Such that
- products are not exposed to elements that will jeopardize quality standards.
- Keep up to date with products and competitors’ activities and report same to Divisional Manager regularly.

Requirement
- Minimum Qualification – B.Sc. in related field.
- Masters is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience as an Area Sales Manager or a Branch Sales Manager
