Job Description



  • He/she is responsible for the overall activities concerning an event for Oaken Events Limited; Idea generation, creating the final design for the event, determining the best production process to apply, and managing the design production and implementation.

  • He/she is to ensure effortless delivery during events, help Oaken Events Limited meet its brandbuilding and important business goals, by managing project delivery elements within deadline.

  • He/she is expected to apply inspiration, creativity, and imagination that ensure events come out unique; he/she also finds ways to leverage the work of creative agencies so that every aesthetic component events is realized.


Key Responsibilities



  • As an Designer Manager with Oaken Events Limited, you will perform various functions that help company achieve brand and business goals.

  • Responsible for creating event designs, drawings, and renderings for company’s events, following departmental and company policies, procedures, and practices.

  • Produce complex digital files in scales from concept to finish for assigned events

  • Make sure designs satisfy client and corporate requirements, are within budget, and are delivered within deadline.

  • Responsible for monitoring inventory levels and ensuring fast ordering process

  • Resolve issues among clients, internal departments, and vendors by interfacing with them

  • Build a cohesive and effective team within the property, division, and department, and inspire design by developing a creative and collaborative environment

  • Ensure hall/field specifications are well understood; maintain specs for floor plan, reflected ceiling plans, and elevations

  • Provide training and education on print capabilities and design techniques to employees

  • Write complete rendering specifications clearly

  • Participate in departmental, planning, and design meetings, as well as in brainstorming sessions

  • Perform review of design elements for effectiveness, and attend event installations

  • Ensure paperwork, digital design files, and renderings are well-organized and maintained

  • Ensure project status, delivery information are promptly communicated to internal teams and clients

  • Become knowledgeable of company event site and inventory

  • Be current on new technologies and software, design trends, vendor products, props/design elements, and production techniques

  • Perform all necessary paperwork; ensure consistency and accuracy

  • Perform other work related tasks that may be requested.


Education and Required Skills



  • Bachelors Degree in Graphics Design, Event Management or any other related discipline

  • Proven work experience as an events designer, organiser, or planner

  • A solid portfolio of previously and successfully managed events, such as weddings, parties, corporate events, and large capacity meetings

  • A strong ability to utilize MS Office products effectively and mastery of CAD software.

  • Ability to manage several projects together independently

  • Extensive knowledge of production vendors, production resources, local event permit requirements, event location, and other event resources

  • Ability to manage external vendor resources and relationships

  • The ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities and duties

  • A proven ability to expect and solve problems related to production timelines and creativity

  • An innovative mindset and a strong ability to generate new ideas continually concerning design creation and production techniques

  • Excellent team management skills to work effectively in a team setting and to lead a team if assigned to do so.

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and time management skills.


Person specification:



  • 3+ years experience of successfully executing large corporate and high profile events.

  • Experience in managing a diverse workload, with multiple deadlines, stakeholders and deliverables.

  • Experience in developing and delivering new design concepts
