Communications Officer at The Techy Accountant


The Techy Accountant bridges the gap between the use of technology and the expression of professional accounting and finance skills among young finance professionals in Africa through bespoke tech training to help graduates fit into today’s market place.


We are looking to hire a dedicated communications officer to join our team. The communications officer will support our internal and external communications strategy, develop and execute digital marketing plans, develop branding materials, and manage training programs as well as respond to inquiries from the public.


 Key Responsibilities: 



  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement an effective communications strategy based on our target audience.

  • Create, edit, and distribute content, including publications, website content, and other marketing material that communicates the organization's activities, products and/or services.

  • Plan and execute digital marketing campaigns to generate leads and increase engagement.

  • Monitor all digital presence and ensure information accuracy across all platforms.

  • Brainstorm new and creative growth strategies.

  • Manage the community of past and present participants of the academy.

  • Monitor all digital channels to respond appropriately to enquires, complaints and take advantage of opportunities.

  • Grow social media community and drive engagement – collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop shareable content.


Required Skills:



  • A bachelor's degree with experience as a communications officer or equivalent experience in a similar role is strongly desired.

  • Minimum of 1-2 years relevant experience in a communications role.

  • Good time management and organizational skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, content management systems, and social media platforms.

  • In-depth knowledge and experience in digital and social media management.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact at all levels in the organization

  • Creative thinker able to set strategy to action and show results.

  • Knowledge of brand management and digital marketing.

  • Experience in community management and growth marketing.

  • Knowledge of basic design tools
