Job Description



Background

The Counselor will join our team and help our patients live better lives by helping them develop problem-solving skills to address mental health issues. He/ she is responsible for building relationships with patients by listening and assisting them in developing habits that improve their lives and overcome stress, anxiety, and behavioral disorders. Ultimately, he/she will work directly with patients to understand and address their anxiety and emotional needs to help them live healthier lives.

The incumbent is responsible for:



  • Providing counseling services to individuals and families of people living with a disability.

  • Record patient information and manage confidential files.

  • Conducting psychological evaluations of patients to diagnose mental illness.

  • Identifying potential risks in patients’ lives that could lead to emotional problems.

  • Preparing reports on patient progress and recommendations for treatment.

  • Providing clinical intervention to individuals who are experiencing mental health issues such as depression or anxiety disorders.

  • Offering support and guidance during sessions with patients.

  • Conducting research on topics related to people living with leprosy and disability.

  • Work in close contact with the Head of Programmes and Operations to facilitate the effective

  • implementation of TLMN Country Strategy in line with the TLMN Policies, processes and Procedures.


PERSON SPECIFICATION

Qualifications and experience



  • Master’s degree in psychology or related field.

  • Proven work experience as a

  • Counselling Psychologist or similar role

  • Relevant training and/or certifications as a Counseling Psychologist.

  • Skills Strong observational skills and attention to details.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Empathy and sensitivity when dealing with patients.

  • Highly analytical mindset.

  • Good diagnostic and problemsolving skills.

  • Personality Committed Christian with good testimonies.

  • Honest and dedicated

  • Demonstrates the ability to use own initiatives.

  • Ability to manage subordinates in the office.

  • Circumstances Willing to work extra hours.
