Job Specification:


Position Title:  Metals & Minerals Inspections coordinator


This position is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Minerals Inspection department. Managing a team of inspection staff to carryout specific customer’s job nominations and/or assignments through a particular branch or branches whilst maintain the highest standards of quality at all times.


It will be necessary to perform administrative and on-field supervisory duties as listed below.


Required Skills:



  • Honest, professional, integrity and be vigilant during the entire working process.

  • Ability to prepare proposals, bids and response to tenders

  • Good Client liaison skills, presenting a professional image and able to develop sound Client relationships.

  • Ensure data collated are correct and reliable, constantly update and reconcile them with other concerned parties IT Literate: Competent with Microsoft Office packages and confident in preparing management information and reports.

  • Familiarity or appreciation of international ISO & GAFTA standards would be advantageous.

Job Roles / Responsibilities:


Team Lead / Coordination



  • Executing multiple projects to support sustainability of the broader business

  • Assist with site inspections and finalization of tenders in conjunction with commercial / estimating team.

  • Plan and set up the project according to contractual and tender requirements, as well as considering best practice and standards for civil / tailings projects

  • Laising with coordinators to plan every job before execution with focus on Cost –Benefit Analysis

  • Ensure that the project site and operational practices are fully compliant to SHEQ requirements, policies, legislation and systems.

  • Draft and complete a project management report on a monthly basis


Operations:



  • Conduct inspections when needed

  • Compile field paperwork and raw data into professional well written reports for management as well as oversee coordinators and their updates,

  • Organize/schedule manpower needs as projects arise and set priorities for job completion.

  • Maintains time sheets of field workers

  • Follow through with field and lab employees on client directives and instructions.

  • Maintain an “on-call” status and oversees location operations.

Minimum Requirement


Education



  • BSC / HND Geological Sciences / Mining / Engineering - Metallurgical/Industrial or Civil Engineering


Discipline / profession



  • Metals & Minerals Inspector / Surveyor


General work experience



  • 6 or more years experience as  metal / mineral/Mining inspector

  • minimum 3 years experience as an inspector in supervisory role. Familiar with inspections of Nigerian metals and minerals – tin, columbite, ….


Age



  • 28 – 42years old

  • Salary range

  • 300k – 350k Naira
